Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center
Please join us on May 6 th or May 13 th for the
Apalachee District Day of Service.
Apalachee will be working with the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center for the forth year in a row. The Center is a unique partnership among the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center Foundation, the University of Georgia, the Gwinnett County Board of Education, and the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. The Center’s mission is to transform the concepts of science and history into interactive, learn-by-doing experiences that will encourage a visitor’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder about themselves
and the world around them.
The event is open to all units, all ages and to all friends and family.
You have the option to work the entire day or a portion of the day.
We just ask that you give at least 2 hours.
This year we are arranging for 2 locations so to give you the ability to serve.
You will also have the ability to earn the Jamboree on the Trail (JOTT) patch and the option to campout either Friday or Saturday night or both at the Center (see sign up for details).
Questions: Contact Ed Fleeson, District Civic Service Chair, using the “Contact the Civic Service Chair” option on the District website.
Let’s provide our kids the opportunity to learn what it means to do service for others, learn about the environment and have fun at the same time.“On my honor I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my Country...To help other people at all times....”
